It follows Major William Cage, who with the help of warrior Rita Vrataski, has to save Earth and the human race from an alien species, after being caught in a time loop. The movie has a brilliant story and plays with the minds of the viewer.

2. Arrival.

Starring Amy Adams, playing the role of Dr Louise Banks, the movie is a sheer example of brilliance. Amy plays a linguistics expert, who along with her team, must interpret the language of aliens who have come to Earth in a mysterious spaceship.

3. Predestination.

If there is a sensational movie with a superb ending, it is this. Ethan Hawke plays a temporal agent who is tasked to travel back in time and prevent a bomb attack in New York in 1975. The hunt, however, turns out to be beyond the bounds of possibility.

4. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

The movie stars Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet in titular roles. The story follows a man and a woman who begin a relationship after a train journey together. However, having had their memories clinically erased, they do not remember their tumultuous past.

5. Primer

Intellectual engineers Aaron (Shane Carruth) and Abe (David Sullivan) build and sell error-checking technology with the help of their friends Robert (Casey Gooden) and Phillip (Anand Upadhyaya). But when Aaron and Abe accidentally invent what they think is the time machine, Abe builds a version capable of transporting a human and puts the device to the test. As the two friends obsess over their creation, they discover the dark consequences of their actions.
