Telling stories in the past Much of what we know about storytelling comes from observing how people behave while listening to a story. Storytelling is an activity in which the speaker attempts to create an emotional response in the audience.

Storytelling is also an element of personal growth. It’s why we’re often encouraged to tell our own stories, examine our own motivations and behaviours, and reflect on how others have changed throughout our lives.

What’s a story?

Reflection is when you ask yourself how you would react in the same situation after thinking about it for a while.

There are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of books on storytelling. Stories have power. They can move mountains and change lives. Storytelling has been used to create societies and inspire movements.
