A healthy lifestyle is a way of living that lowers the risk of disease and ill health. You can only live a healthy lifestyle if you maintain a healthy living practice.

Healthy living practices are behaviors beneficial to our health. It demands a high level of discipline and intentionality. Some see it as not being easy but it is better to do them to stay healthy than nurse sicknesses that could have been avoided. Though not all diseases are preventable with healthy living practices, a larger percentage can be avoided Some of these healthy practices are:

Eat Healthy Balanced Diet


Eat from all the groups of balanced diets and fulfill all your nutritional needs You are to eat this wide variety of foods in the right proportion. A healthy diet includes:

  • Eating lots of fruits and vegetables.

  • Eating a variety of whole grains( please do limit refined grains).

  • Eating protein food like fish, beans nuts.

  • Staying away from junk, they aren't good for your health.

  • Limiting saturated fats like butter, margarine, and cheese.

  • Avoiding red meats, processed meat, and good, cold nuts.

  • Making water your choice of drink. Avoid substances that have no nutritional value to you. Drink 8-12 cups daily.

  • Taking organic yogurt which supplies calcium.



It is a physical activity intended to improve strength and fitness. Exercise every day. It is not necessarily when you get to the gym you can only exercise. Squatting, walking, dancing, and stretching can be done anywhere. Other exercises you can engage in are:

  • Brisk walking or jogging.

  • Playing tennis or basketball.

  • Swimming.

  • Biking.

  • Climbing stairs or hills.

Exercise improves your brain health, helps to manage your weight, reduces the risk of disease, and strengthens your bone and muscle. Stop being fixed to a point, move around, and do some exercise.

Do Medical Checkup Regularly


A medical check-up is a medical exam where a routine test is performed by a medical expert to assess a person's health. With this, you will be able to know the state of your body and address any health-related issues. It's not when your body begins to malfunction and you are completely down, you will visit a doctor. Even if you feel perfectly fine, still go ahead. It is no waste, it is just being on the safer side. Some things are earlier better corrected. Do check it regularly. It is good to have updates on your body functions.

Practice Good Hygiene


Practice personal, environmental, domestic, and food hygiene

  • Live and dwell in a clean environment.

  • Clean your body every day and put on neat clothes.

  • Wash your hands with soap after going to the toilet, handling pets and animals, and touching objects and surfaces exposed to germs.

  • Cook your food in a clean environment with clean gadgets.

  • Protect your raw food and cooked food from anything that can harm your health.

  • Disinfect all surfaces ad objects regularly.

Rest and Relax


Rest is a very important part of a healthy lifestyle for all ages. It rejuvenates your body and mind. It goes a long way to prepare you for other rounds of activeness. Not getting enough rest can negatively affect your immune system, memory, and stress level. Catching up on physical rest can be taking deep breaths during the workday, or squeezing in a restorative yoga class.

Have Fun


Create time to chill and have fun. You can hang out, and spend time with your family and friends. Make yourself happy, share beautiful roads and smile all you can. They are healthy practices too.

Have Adequate Sleep


Sleep is an important function that allows your body and mind to be charged. It refreshes and makes you alert when you awake. Healthy sleep also helps the body remain to stave off disease. The brain cannot function properly without enough sleep. Experts recommend that adults sleep between 7 and 9 hours per night of shut eyes. If you practice this healthy lifestyle healthy living is assured. Remember, you don't wish it but practice it.
