Mood disorder is a mental health condition that primarily affects the emotional state. The general emotional state is inconsistent with your mood.

Bipolar Disorder: It is also known as Manic depression. It's a mental health disorder that causes intense high and low moods. People with this disorder can have periods of feeling very happy and other periods of feeling very sad. There are two poles of mood. There is always a dramatic shift of mood between highs and lows.

Causes Of Mood Disorder


Biological factor: In this situation, the Amygdala which is an area that controls feelings and emotions on the brain imaging tests is enlarged. This can cause mood disorders.

Genetic factor: Mood disorders are likely genetic. If strong in a family's history, it may be inherited.

Environmental factors: These are the occurrence or events that have taken or are taking place. Examples are stress, sicknesses, the death of loved ones, and traumatic events. All this over time can lead to mood disorder. A mood disorder can affect anyone like children, adolescents, and adults. Mood disorder is can be treated. Its treatment varies with the specific type and symptom. Medication and Psychotherapy(talk therapy) are the common treatment.
