Plastic pollution is generated from plastic waste, in today's time it has taken a formidable form and it is increasing day by day.

It also has many negative effects on this beautiful planet of ours, due to which it has become a serious threat to life, that is why today plastic pollution remains a matter of global concern.

Plastic wastes find their way from our houses and offices to the landfills and water bodies

resulting in plastic pollution. There is an urgent need to dispose of such plastic wastes

properly and to cut down their widespread use for the sake of health and the environment.

Causes of plastic


  • Plastic is a non-biodegradable synthetic material.

  • We indiscriminately use plastic in almost all the items plastic of daily usage.

  • Plastic accumulation results in environmental pollution.

  • Its accumulation badly affects land, waterways and oceans.

  • On burning, it releases toxic gases like Nitrogen Oxide and Shuler Dioxide.

  • It also results in the depletion of Wildlife and Marine life.

  • Instead of plastic, we should use biodegradable materials.

  • The use of advanced incinerators for effective waste disposal is compulsory.

  • The government of all countries should ban the use of plastic.

  • People must be aware of the hazards of plastic.

Plastic bags are lethal to our environment and pollute it to an extent greater extent than we could imagine. With their ability to be defragmented into small pieces, plastic bags easily sweep into our waterways and soil, polluting them and rendering them useless.

  • The use of plastic bags depletes our natural resources such as water, trees and farm produce.

  • It poses a threat to marine life resulting in a decrease in the number of sea animals.

  • The burning of plastic bags releases toxic gases into the atmosphere.

  • It poses a menace to wildlife as plastic bags when an animal accidentally ingests them.

  • The production of plastic bags releases harmful gases into the atmosphere.

  • The manufacture of plastic needs millions of litres of oil.

  • We use plastic bags widely in our daily life, mostly for hand supplies from local stores.

  • Plastic bags have become an integral part of human habitation.

  • The world consumes 1 trillion Plastic every year.

  • Billions of plastic bags end up as litter.

  • Only 1 in every 20 used bags gets recycled.

The solution to Beat Plastic Pollution

  • Stop buying plastic water bottles.

  • Do not use polythene bags to handle supplies.

  • Do not drink tea, coffee in those plastic cups instead, use earthen cups.

  • Use recyclable bags to handle supplies from grocery shops.

  • Leave no plastic litter behind you.

  • Wear recycled and recyclable garments.

  • Go blogging (means: jogging with rag picking).

  • Purchase your daily need items in bulk.

  • Organize gathering for your community cleanup.

  • Aware people of the hazards of plastic pollution.
