Tv Show | Game of Thrones | 30th November 2021 | Virtual Wire
Spoilers ahead! With many new TV shows doing rounds in the news, for bearing the potential to be the next best thing to Game of Thrones, while Game of Thrones itself remains evergreen and irreplaceable.
Let’s reminisce some of the most brutal and undeserving deaths GOT offered us:
Ordered to be beheaded by Joffrey Baratheon. It is indisputable that Ned Stark being an honourable man and a loyal servant as well as friend to Robert Baratheon, faced great injustice and didn’t deserve his head to be put on a spike.
Murdered by Jon Snow. Overcoming tons of hurdles by keeping her head high up and winning all those battles without ever backing off, all, so that she can win back what the dragons lost, only to be murdered by the one she loved, poor Dany deserved a better ending.
Killed by The Mountain. He just wanted to avenge his sister’s death, while also helping out a friend in need by defeating The Mountain in combat, but unfortunately, Oberyn got his head smashed like a watermelon by The Mountain instead. What a pathetic way for a warrior to die!
Torched as a sacrifice. The only bad thing which happened to this poor child are her parents. Her own father offers her as a sacrifice so as to gain more power, following which she is tied to a stake and burnt down. But her death was for nothing, as Stannis Baratheon loses The Battle of The Blackwater and eventually gets killed. How satisfying!
Ordered to be executed by Cersei Lannister. One thing we all can agree on is that, had Cersei not killed Missandei, Daenerys wouldn’t have burnt down King’s Landing. Missandei’s beheading made Daenerys vengeful. Since Missandei’s last words were “Dracarys”, clearly destruction was inevitable.
Killed in the wildfire at the Great Sept of Baelor. While Margaery was manipulative and cunning, it’s undeniable that she was, and has always been a better queen, than Cersei could ever be. Despite her hunger for power, Margaery still had a soft spot for her subjects and would’ve been of some use to the people, if she hadn’t died at the hands of Cersei.

With all the violence and vengeance going on at the 7 kingdoms, Tommen with his innocence was a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long and a heartbroken Tommen took his own life as soon he received the news of the death, of his wife Margaery.
Flayed alive by Ramsay Bolton. A servant of the Boltons, the old woman wanted to help Sansa, in case she was in any danger. Unfortunately for the old woman, Ramsay hears about this and skins the old lady alive, but before he could flay her face, she dies of a heart attack. Such a Ramsay Bolton thing to do!
Eaten alive by Ramsay Bolton’s dogs Tansy was one of the many unfortunate women who Ramsay used to torture, abuse and rape. When Ramsay’s sadist lover Myranda felt jealous of Tansy, he released his three dogs after Tansy and she was eventually eaten alive by them. That’s what Ramsay does to people he grows bored of.
Fell to his death and took his brother with him. Almost none of us liked him during the beginning of the show which, when we saw him caring for the Stark girls on multiple occasions. So when he fell to his death in a battle with The Mountain, we couldn’t help but feel bad for him. But, at least he got his revenge on the brother, he despised so badly!
The Red Wedding
Massacred by Walder Frey of House Frey. Walder Frey had his revenge on Robb Stark who promised to marry one of his daughters, yet had the audacity to break his promise and marry someone he loved. So Walder invited them to dine with him, betrayed and murdered Robb Stark, his pregnant wife Talisa Stark, his mother Catelyn Stark, among many others. The price you pay for falling in love!

Killed by an arrow during the attack on Castle Black. Ygritte didn’t deserve to be betrayed by Jon Snow and neither did she deserve to die just like that without even getting her revenge on him, for repaying her love with betrayal and abandoning her. But at least she didn’t survive to see the disappointment that was Season 8 of GOT. Good for her!
