Will Smith supports Naomi Osaka and writes, “I am with You.”

Will Smith posted a picture of a handwritten message supporting four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka over her decision saying, “You are Right. They are Wrong!”

The actor took Instagram to show his support to the young athlete for prioritizing her mental health.

On Monday, Naomi announced her withdrawal from French Open after her first winning match followed by a fine for avoiding the mandatory press conference.

“The truth is that I have suffered long bouts of depression since the US Open in 2018 and I have had a really hard time coping up with that”, Osaka said in her statement on social media.

“I am not a natural public speaker and get huge waves of anxiety before I speak to the world’s media. I get really nervous and find it stressful to always try to engage and give you the best answers I can. So here in Paris, I was already feeling vulnerable and anxious so I thought it was better to exercise self-care and skip the press conferences”, Osaka continued.

Lewis Hamilton, ahead of his Azerbaijan Grand Prix spoke: "I think she is incredible and I applaud her for her bravery because I think it's now asking those in power to... think about how they reacted because I think the way they reacted wasn't good.”

“Someone talking about their personal mental health and then being fined for it, that was not cool. I think they could have definitely handled it better and I hope they will take a deep dive into it and find a better way to navigate in the future.", he added.

Celebrities around the world show tons of support for Naomi and very recently Serena Williams empathized with her saying, “I feel for Naomi. I know what it’s like. I’ve been in those positions. ... Not everyone is the same. I’m thick. Other people are thin. You just have to let her handle it the way she wants to, in the best way she thinks she can, and that’s the only thing I can say. I think she’s doing the best that she can.”

Serena Williams’ sister and fellow tennis player, Venus Williams, encouraged her to “take care” of herself.

Usain Bolt, Cordae, and several others motivated Naomi through social media comments.
